Job Description

Provide overall leadership to the Westside Academy program.  Westside Academy is a therapeutic alternative program supporting students in grades 7-12 impacted by trauma and struggle with issues surrounding self-esteem, depression, school phobia, anxiety, anger, and substance use disorders.

 

Typical Duties:

  1. Uphold all rules, policies, regulations, and procedures of Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to instruction and academic issues.
  2. Plan, develop, and evaluate the quality of instructional programs and services within Westside Academy using multiple measures.
  3. Provide direct supervision to classroom teachers and support personnel through the completion of Annual Professional Performance Reviews
  4. Supervise curriculum development and implementation focusing on best practices aligned with New York State standards.
  5. Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of the Westside Academies Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) program ensuring all students are receiving the appropriate academic, behavioral, and social emotional interventions they need to successfully meet their goals.
  6. Supervise program-wide staffing efforts and make employment recommendations to the Assistant Superintendents for Human Resources and Instructional Programs
  7. Provide fiscal development and management of program budgets to include staffing and unit cost recommendations ensuring the delivery of high-quality educational programs and services grounded in research-based best practices.
  8. Collaborate with internal and external partners to coordinate transportation schedules and the delivery of student support services.
  9. Facilitate the development of grant proposals to support additional funding for program initiatives.
  10. Supervise the preparation and submission of appropriate local, state, and federal reports related to the Westside Academy’s instructional program.
Job Qualifications

New York State Certification as School Building Leader and experience as a building administrator is required.
