TYPICAL DUTIES:

Program Coordination

  • Coordinate and provide direction for all transportation related career training programs, included but not limited to Commercial Driver’s License – Class B
  • In collaboration with instructors, develop and coordinate all curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices for applicable career training programs
  • Ensure program curriculum and assessments are aligned to all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA) and NYS motor vehicle and education regulations
  • Manage and complete Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) provider database with all required student data
  • Develop and maintain a close working relationship with local workforce and industry partners through written and verbal communication and on-site visits.
  • Guide the teaching activities of assigned programs, including review and recommendation of teaching schedules.
  • Assist teachers in the development of quality instructional practices.
  • Use collaborative problem-solving to address issues and solve problems.
  • Plan and support onboarding procedures and training for new staff
  • Coordinate and oversee orientation for all new instructors and examiners
  • Communicate with prospective students regarding enrollment requirements and process. Oversee the enrollment and application process, ensuring all students have completed required steps prior to class start.
  • Track student progress through the program, providing support as necessary
  • Collaborate with admissions team on marketing and recruitment for programming
  • Coordinate substitute instructional support as needed, including maintaining sub lists, identifying and training substitutes to ensure instructional coverage.
  • Plan and coordinate employer visits to connect students to employment opportunities
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local employers and relevant workforce organizations
  • Collect and analyze student completion, certification, job placement outcomes, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and communicate program updates to stakeholders
  • Stay informed about changes in the transportation industry and integrate relevant updates into the program

Road Test Site Coordination

  • Work with NY DMV to establish BOCES as an approved CDL-B third-party road test site
  • Work with area school districts to develop partnerships for CDL-B testing school employees
  • Oversee all road test policies, procedures and schedules, including coordination of examiners

Regional Collaboration

  • Participate in the Rochester Area Transportation Supervisors Association
  • Develop and implement new programs based on community needs and department resources
  • Work with community partners on resource sharing to establish new training sites
  • Collaborate with grant writing, development, and implementation
  • Provide formal presentations to external groups, as needed.

Other

  • Attend at least 14 hours of approved professional development and additional staff development days each school year.
  • Participate in teams and committees as assigned
  • All safety standards as mandated by the BOCES 2 organization
  • Other duties as determined by the Director of BOCES 2 CWD
  • Flexible schedule with possibility for hybrid schedule. Evening availability required: 1-2 evenings a week to support evening programs.

ADULT EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR - Manufacturing Technician (Part-Time, Evenings)CWD/AdEdManufTech-02/21/24

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Prepare syllabus and daily lesson plans and hands-on projects for the practical application of the curriculum
  • Preparing and delivering instructional material to assist students’ learning
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and student progress
  • Provide individual and group instruction in the implementation of the curriculum
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies to property monitor and assess student performance
  • Prepare pre/posttests and performance evaluations for students at the completion of each unit

  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and student progress.
  • Provide individual and group instruction in the implementation of the curriculum.
  • Prepare pre/post-tests and performance evaluations for students at the completion of each unit.
  • Order student textbooks, supplies, materials, and equipment necessary for the implementation for the job training program.
  • Effective supervision of students.
  • Maintain and modify curriculum to remain current and up to date.

Per diem instruction for Literacy Program (Daytime or Evening)

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Provide instruction for literacy program in High School Equivalency or English for Speaker of Other Languages (ESOL) classroom per substitute plans
  • Manage the classroom procedures and policies to meet student and organizational needs.
  • Collaborate with the staff in the classroom and organization as needed
  • Report and document student attendance according to program guidelines.
  • Come prepared with instructional activities if substitute plans are not available.
  • Hours vary per assignment; classes take place in the morning, afternoon, and evening.
  • Substitute Workshop Training required

Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES is seeking highly motivated individuals who have served locally and nationally as a commercial driver, to share their knowledge and experiences with those individuals who are training to get their CDL.  Successful candidates will provide instruction in the theory and daily operation of vehicles such as, commercial and school busses, dump trucks, box trucks and straight  

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:  

  • Preparing and delivering instructional material to assist students to learn how to safely and effectively drive automatic transmission commercial busses and school busses, dump trucks, box trucks and straight trucks.
  • Develop/follow course outlines, lesson plans and assessments aligned to Federal Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) programs.
  • Provide instructional support for students so that they are able to knowledgeably move through the NYS CDL testing process, including road test preparation.
  • Use a variety of learning materials and equipment to properly monitor and assess student performance.
  • Use relevant technology to support instruction.
  • Coordinate annual advisory board meetings as required by accreditation regulations.
  • Observe and evaluate student performance and development.
  • Providing appropriate feedback during instruction.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete records of student development and progress throughout the CDL Process.
  • Provide appropriate on-road guidance and driving instruction to ensure safe student use of vehicles.
  • Communicate vehicle use needs with vendors/providers.
  • Coordinate use of vehicles with vendors/providers.
  • Work with students to identify drive times for practicing.

To provide quality instruction as a substitute for Career and Technical Education Courses.  Seeking content specialists interested in teaching HVAC/R, CDL-B, Electrical, Residential Construction, Welding, Machining, Small Engine Repair, Forklift, Nurse Assisting, Phlebotomy, Dental Assisting.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  1. Provide instructional services for Career and Technical Education training programs in the absence of the regular instructor on a per diem basis.
  2. Follow established plans for the delivery of instruction/classroom management as set forth by the instructor.
  3. Evaluate adult learner progress. 
  4. Assist in upholding and enforcing procedures set forth in the Adult Learner and Faculty handbook.
  5. Maintain all safety standards as mandated by the BOCES 2 organization.
  6. Follow course curriculum, syllabus, lesson plans, and assessments aligned to industry standards.
  7. Use relevant technology to support instruction.
  8. Provide appropriate feedback during instruction.
  9. Other duties as determined by the Director of BOCES 2 CWD.

 

$16.25 - $23.25/ Hour, Based on Experience
