Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES is seeking highly motivated individuals who have served locally as a commercial driver, to facilitate the road test and/or practice driving for students seeking to earn their CDL-B license with school bus and passenger endorsements. Road tests are scheduled every 6 weeks during the spring, summer, and fall months.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: 

• Facilitate vehicle use for road tests – respond to requests for road tests from CWD staff, pick up and prepare school bus for road test, drive to testing site, wait at testing site during exam, return school bus to facility.
• Provide appropriate on-road guidance and driving instruction to ensure safe student use of vehicles, as appropriate.
• Communicate vehicle use needs with vendors/providers.
• Coordinate use of vehicles with vendors/providers.
• Work with CWD staff to identify drive times for road tests and practice, if available.
• Maintain all safety standards as mandated by the BOCES 2 organization.
• Performing other duties as requested.

Job Qualifications

Candidates must:

• Be 21 years of age, or older
• Two or more years of experience as a commercial driver
• A valid NYS driver’s license (Class A or Class B w/ Passenger and School Bus Endorsements)
• Acceptable drivers’ record

Preferred:          Be a Certified School Bus Driving Instructor (SBDI)

Educational:     High School or equivalency diploma
