Job Description

Responsible for greeting visitors, answering the main reception line and main office support.



  1. Answer main telephone line to school and direct calls
  2. Greet and assist guests and community as they enter the WEMOCO building, signing in visitors (Raptor) and giving visitor badges, monitor cameras. Work with Security as needed
  3. Distribute mail: interoffice and post-office
  4. Communicate extra-curricular event dates/times to security for door programming
  5. Field trips (Bus Hive) and transportation – Liaison w/districts and BOCES 2
  6. Clerical support to health office and assist with MERT responses/Emergency Response Team
  7. Assist with parent packet data entry and updates (SchoolTool)
  8. Assist with student parking paperwork
  9. Accounting, Purchasing and Receiving: check packages daily, pull packing slips and compare with purchase orders, mark orders for delivery within building, assist with filing and tagging
  10. APPR scheduling and assist with process as required
  11. SharePoint/Outlook Calendars: monitor CWD calendars, continue to collect/update district calendar dates (marking periods, open house dates), update Outllook calendars with building wide events/dates
  12. Maintain contact lists
  13. Technical Assessment support; data entry, signing in and assisting proctors
  14. Back-up (daily as required):  Discipline letters; Student Attendance (entering tardies, assist signing in and out); Account Clerk     
  15. Summer Specific:
    1. Parent Packets – coordinate updates, packet assembly and mailing in August
    2. Obtain Marking Period information/open house dates from districts. Collect district calendars (add to SharePoint)
    3. Summer programs; gather student contact information, field trip support, transportation, parent and discipline support
    4. Assist with updates to Staff and Student handbooks (proofread and edit)
  16. Performs additional related duties as requested by the Executive Principal or Administrator

Job Qualifications

** Monroe County Residency Required

Must possess or meet requirements for Civil Service title Office Clerk III.  Clerical experience strongly preferred, including word processing and data base knowledge.  

Clerk III - High School diploma and 2 years paid full-time or part-time or volunteer equivalent office clerical or secretarial experience; or an Associate’s degree in Secretarial Science, Office Technology or a closely related field.

  • Three to five years of administrative office experience
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Should have good judgment and initiative
  • Must be an excellent team player
  • Energetic, motivated, detail oriented and punctual
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks
  • Strong computer background, (MS Office Suite, School Tool, SharePoint, etc.)
