Job Description

Adult education instructor to teach an Adult Basic Education and High School Equivalency class at a community resource in a downtown Rochester location, 2-4 days per week. Ideal candidate possesses experience working cooperatively with mental health care managers.



  1. Provide differentiated instruction for Adult Basic Education and High School Equivalency program
  2. Plan and execute lessons in 5 content areas: Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies
  3. Evaluate student learning through formal and informal assessment practices
  4. Report and document student attendance and academic progress
  5. Conduct additional administrative tasks associated with classroom operation.
  6. Hours vary per assignment, multiple openings available for 2 or 4 weekday evenings.
  7. Maintains all safety standards as mandated by the BOCES 2 organization
  8. Other duties as determined by the Director of BOCES 2 CWD
  9. Report directly to the Director of BOCES 2 CWD
Job Qualifications

Teaching experience required.  Bachelor degree in Education or related field.  Adult Education Certification preferred.  Experience working with adult students preferred.
