Responsible for providing audiological services related to the auditory needs of students on an itinerant basis in multiple districts as well as in BOCES classrooms
TYPICAL DUTIES:
Fitting, verification, and monitoring of FM/DM Hearing Assistive Technology devices based on auditory need of students
Travel to schools to provide consultation and in-service to assist classroom teachers/educational team in developing instructional techniques to manage the auditory needs of students in the classroom
Communicate with administrators, teachers, related services providers, parents, and students regarding the needs and management of students with auditory deficits
Participate in the development of Individualized Education Program (IEP) for students on caseload
Maintain communication with audiology agencies, medical providers, and participating schools in areas of diagnosis and remediation of auditory needs of students
Perform such other professional duties as may be assigned by the Special Education Supervisor.
Masters or Doctrorate Degree in Audiology; NYS Audiology License; NYS Hearing Aid Dispensing License; ASHA Certification (CCC-A). Prior Pediatric and/or School Experience preferred.
