Job Description

Responsible for teaching English 12 to CTE students at WEMOCO, teaching/co-teaching literacy and writing strategies in CTE programs, supporting GED and dual enrollment instruction as needed.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

• Provide ELA 12 instruction to CTE students earning ELA 12 credit
• Maintain and update ELA 12 curriculum in Atlas and Schoology
• Assist teachers in meeting CTE Literacy expectations by teaching/co-teaching in CTE programs
• Provide remediation and/or ELA support to students struggling in ELA 12 and/or in successfully completing CTE literacy tasks
• Review and implement student IEP’s and 504 plans
• Support GED and dual enrollment instruction a needed
• Complete and maintain student records, grades and attendance reports
• Ongoing communication with parents and districts regarding student performance
• Participate in relevant curriculum and staff development projects
• Perform additional duties as assigned by CTE administration

Job Qualifications

New York State Teacher Certification in 7-12 English required. Five or more years of teaching experience preferred. BA/BS in English and an MFA, MA Liberal Studies or a ME Teaching.  Special education experience preferred.
