Job Description

Provide clerical support and office organization to the Special Education Supervisor.

TYPICAL DUTIES:       

  1. Provide clerical support and office organization to Special Education Supervisor.   
  2. Support Special Education Supervisor in the areas that he/she is responsible for. 
  3. Maintain any needed databases. 
  4. Coordinates various CSE meetings during the year including re-evaluations and disseminates information. 
  5. Processes addendums and requests for support services (89F’s) as needed for the student’s in her supervisor’s caseload. 
  6. Use IEP/BOCES Direct for printing of class lists and following up on student information. 
  7. Process student incident reports and enters appropriate information in the VADIR database. 
  8. Assists in sorting of mail for the Special Education Department.  Process mail/postage. 
  9. Perform other such duties as assigned by the Special Education Supervisors.

Job Qualifications

Must possess or meet requirements for Civil Service title Office Clerk III.  High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years paid full-time or part-time or volunteer equivalent office clerical or secretarial experience; or an Associate’s degree in Secretarial Science, Office Technology or a closely related field. Advanced training and/or experience preferred.  Good clerical and computer skills.
