Job Description

The Instructional Support Specialist for Special Education will provide targeted instructional support and coaching to local school districts in the area of special education and behavior.

TYPICAL DUTIES: 

1. Organize and implement high-quality professional development offerings in behavior analysis and function-based thinking as requested by component districts and others.
2. Consult and Coach teachers and support staff in classroom supports, MTSS and behavior best practices.
3. Communicate effectively with various stakeholders and supporting improved results for all students.
4. Assist with the preparation and planning of behavior plans and supports, using skills such as data analysis, research, and resource management.
5. Continuously refine practices through the study of best practices in professional development, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, behavior, and education as a whole.
6. Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

Permanent/Professional New York State Teaching Certification in Special Education 1-6, K-12, behavioral analysis or related field.

Minimum of 5 years teaching experience with students with disabilities or behavior analysis/function-based thinking.
