Job Description

The Student Records/Transportation staff maintain all student records pertaining to students, assists with coordinating transportation, and perform other office-related duties


  1. Updates and maintains confidential BOCES student records.  Corresponds with staff, districts, and agencies providing necessary information as required. 
  2. Receives student referrals and initiates placement by collecting and compiling necessary information, arranging transportation, assembling teacher and provider information packets, and distributing necessary information regarding placement to ensure a smooth start. 
  3. Maintains official staff/student forms, verifies and updates student records and systems. 
  4. Prepares and maintains an updated calendar of events for BOCES and component school districts related to transportation. 
  5. Facilitates transportation issues with internal and external parties. 
  6. Performs such other office-related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Job Qualifications

Must possess or meet requirements for Civil Service title Office Clerk III.  High School diploma or equivalent; computer competence.  Strong office support skills, attention to detail, excellent communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills are required.
