To provide quality instruction for post-secondary/adult Career Training Courses.  Seeking content specialists interested in teaching courses in construction, manufacturing, transportation, and healthcare.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Prepare syllabus and daily lesson plans and hands-on projects for the practical application of the curriculum.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and student progress.
  • Provide individual and group instruction in the implementation of the curriculum.
  • Prepare pre/post-tests and performance evaluations for students at the completion of each unit.
  • Order student textbooks, supplies, materials, and equipment necessary for the implementation for the job training program.
  • Effective supervision of students.
  • Maintain and modify curriculum to remain current and up to date.
  • Maintain all safety standards as mandated by OSHA and the BOCES 2 organization.

ADULT EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR - Adult Literacy Instructor, Per Diem SubstitutesCWD/AdEdSub-10/18/23

Per diem instruction for Literacy Program (Daytime or Evening)

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Provide instruction for literacy program in High School Equivalency or English for Speaker of Other Languages (ESOL) classroom per substitute plans
  • Manage the classroom procedures and policies to meet student and organizational needs.
  • Collaborate with the staff in the classroom and organization as needed
  • Report and document student attendance according to program guidelines.
  • Come prepared with instructional activities if substitute plans are not available.
  • Hours vary per assignment; classes take place in the morning, afternoon, and evening.
  • Substitute Workshop Training required
  • Maintains all safety standards as mandated by the BOCES 2 organization
  • Other duties as determined by the Director of BOCES 2 CWD
  • Report directly to the Director of BOCES 2 CWD

 

$16.00 - $25.00/ Hour, Based on Experience
ADULT EDUCATION CLASSROOM ASSISTANT - Student Paid Co-OpCWD/StudCoop-9/27/23

Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 4-hour shifts

TYPICAL DUTIES:

An Adult Education Classroom Assistant provides support to instructors in evening career training programs. They assist instructor with various tasks and functions, including:

  1. Observation and coaching to support the safety of students within the classroom and lab areas
  2. Development of lesson plans and delivery of instruction within established curriculum guidelines
  3. Preparation of classroom materials and supplies for classroom and laboratory instruction – including handouts, electronic materials, lab materials, etc.
  4. Interacting with students, providing one-on-one support and observing projects in lab
  5. Maintaining equipment in the classroom
  6. Maintaining inventory of consumable supplies needed for class including contacting vendors for materials and quotes.
$15.25/ Hour
ADULT EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR - Per Diem SubstitutesCWD/AdEdSub-2/7/23

To provide quality instruction as a substitute for Career and Technical Education Courses.  Seeking content specialists interested in teaching HVAC/R, CDL-B, Electrical, Residential Construction, Welding, Machining, Small Engine Repair, Forklift, Nurse Assisting, Phlebotomy, Dental Assisting.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  1. Provide instructional services for Career and Technical Education training programs in the absence of the regular instructor on a per diem basis.
  2. Follow established plans for the delivery of instruction/classroom management as set forth by the instructor.
  3. Evaluate adult learner progress. 
  4. Assist in upholding and enforcing procedures set forth in the Adult Learner and Faculty handbook.
  5. Maintain all safety standards as mandated by the BOCES 2 organization.
  6. Follow course curriculum, syllabus, lesson plans, and assessments aligned to industry standards.
  7. Use relevant technology to support instruction.
  8. Provide appropriate feedback during instruction.
  9. Other duties as determined by the Director of BOCES 2 CWD.

 

$16.25 - $23.25/ Hour, Based on Experience
