To provide quality instruction as a substitute for Career and Technical Education Courses.  Seeking content specialists interested in teaching HVAC/R, CDL-B, Electrical, Residential Construction, Welding, Machining, Small Engine Repair, Forklift, Nurse Assisting, Phlebotomy, Dental Assisting.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  1. Provide instructional services for Career and Technical Education training programs in the absence of the regular instructor on a per diem basis.
  2. Follow established plans for the delivery of instruction/classroom management as set forth by the instructor.
  3. Evaluate adult learner progress. 
  4. Assist in upholding and enforcing procedures set forth in the Adult Learner and Faculty handbook.
  5. Maintain all safety standards as mandated by the BOCES 2 organization.
  6. Follow course curriculum, syllabus, lesson plans, and assessments aligned to industry standards.
  7. Use relevant technology to support instruction.
  8. Provide appropriate feedback during instruction.
  9. Other duties as determined by the Director of BOCES 2 CWD.

ADULT EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR Information Electrical Fundamentals for the Construction IndustryCWD/Electric/Construction 4/13/23

Electrical Instructor to provide quality instruction to post-secondary/adult students in evening electrical course. Part-Time Evenings (Hybrid class structure: in person class days/hours are Tuesday/Thursday 5:30-8:30 pm, 3 hours of remote work assigned each week)

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Prepare syllabus and daily lesson plans and hands-on projects for the practical application of the curriculum
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and student progress
  • Provide individual and group instruction in the implementation of the curriculum
  • Provide 3 hours per week of remote work and grading of that work
  • Prepare pre/post tests and performance evaluations for students at the completion of each unit
  • Order student textbooks, supplies, materials and equipment necessary for the implementation for the job training program
  • Effective supervision of students
  • Maintain and modify curriculum to remain current and up to date
  • Maintain all safety standards as mandated by OSHA and the BOCES 2 organization
  • Monitor employment tracking of students

ADULT EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR - REGISTERED NURSE FOR CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT, Part-Time, EveningsCWD/RN-CNA-6/30/23

Nurse Assisting Instructor to provide quality instruction to post-secondary/adult students to prepare them for a successful career in the health care industry as certified nurse assistants. 

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Prepare syllabus and daily lesson plans and hands-on projects for the practical application of the curriculum
  • Prepare and deliver instructional material to assist students’ learning
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and student progress
  • Provide individual and group instruction in the implementation of the curriculum
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies to property monitor and assess student performance
  • Prepare pre/post tests and performance evaluations for students at the completion of each unit
  • Teach in-person classes plus additional hours for planning and grading remote assignments
  • Use relevant technology to support instruction
  • Maintain and modify curriculum to remain current and up to date

Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES is seeking highly motivated individuals who have served locally and nationally as a commercial driver, to share their knowledge and experiences with those individuals who are training to get their CDL.  Successful candidates will provide instruction in the theory and daily operation of vehicles such as, commercial and school busses, dump trucks, box trucks and straight  

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:  

  • Preparing and delivering instructional material to assist students to learn how to safely and effectively drive automatic transmission commercial busses and school busses, dump trucks, box trucks and straight trucks.
  • Develop/follow course outlines, lesson plans and assessments aligned to Federal Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) programs.
  • Provide instructional support for students so that they are able to knowledgeably move through the NYS CDL testing process, including road test preparation.
  • Use a variety of learning materials and equipment to properly monitor and assess student performance.
  • Use relevant technology to support instruction.
  • Coordinate annual advisory board meetings as required by accreditation regulations.
  • Observe and evaluate student performance and development.
  • Providing appropriate feedback during instruction.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete records of student development and progress throughout the CDL Process.
  • Provide appropriate on-road guidance and driving instruction to ensure safe student use of vehicles.
  • Communicate vehicle use needs with vendors/providers.
  • Coordinate use of vehicles with vendors/providers.
  • Work with students to identify drive times for practicing.
  • Maintain all safety standards as mandated by the BOCES 2 organization
